“My media obsession was birthed and progressed in that little space,” she says, describing the live broadcasting room in the Scandling Campus Center. “WHWS is where it all got started for me,” Abramov says. She credits her experience at WHWS, that she proudly touts is ranked 17th in the country, with preparing her for her new role. ![]() Every day, pitches for different shows by various production companies are sent to her office and Abramov helps decide which projects will move forward. Now, Abramov is a part of CNN's growing success in creating several hit TV series. ![]() Abramov says it wasn't easy condensing her experiences in news broadcasting with Fox News, MSNBC, and daily reporting with WHWS (the HWS radio station) but she managed to capture her qualifications, her humor and fit for the global network, with: ![]() Nora Abramov ’16 turned her passion for media and news broadcasting into a career at CNN in New York City, where she works in program development on shows that have made the channel stand out from other networks, like Anthony Bourdain's food and travel series “Parts Unknown” and Lisa Ling's “This is Life.”Īfter graduating from HWS, Abramov knew she wanted to work for CNN and seized the opportunity when the network tweeted about an opening, asking candidates to describe themselves in 140 characters or less.
